Replicating Breeder's Flocks

The primary objective of the Ontario Replicating Breeders' Association is to promote the development of OLIBS replacement ewes and to offer for sale, large groups of uniform OLIBS breeding ewes of certified health status and above average production to commercial sheep producers. We will also provide educational opportunities relating to commercial sheep production for Ontario Sheep Producers.

In accordance with the Replicating Breeders' constitution, all sheep are well and properly managed, under an acceleration lambing system. ( Hormonal manipulation and light control is permitted.) Members participate in routine health screening and blood testing such as the Sheep Health Program. Members practice strict bio-security to protect the health status of the sheep. Members fully record the flock in accordance with the association's individual sheep recording scheme ( currently SFIP, Ewebyte and sire reference scheme) Each animal is identified with unique identification (tattoo) or ear tag. Lambs are weighed at birth, 50 and 100 days of age and information entered into the SFIP program.
